Project Overview
Electric breast pumps, particularly hospital-grade models used in NICU and clinical settings, demand continuous, reliable power to maintain consistent suction and protect milk supply. A&S Power collaborated with a leading medical device OEM to design a battery pack solution based on Li-polymer chemistry that meets runtime, safety, and form-factor constraints.
Customer Requirements
- Stable suction without voltage sag during long pumping sessions
- Extended run-time for frequent NICU use and rentals
- Compliance with medical safety standards (UN38.3, IEC62133, RoHS)
- Lightweight, compact pack to fit portable pump housings
- High cycle life and low maintenance for rental equipment
A&S Power Solution
A&S Power recommended and supplied two models tailored to the OEM’s product variants:
- AS703440 — 3.7V, 1000mAh: Compact option for lightweight portable pumps.
- AS853450 — 3.7V, 1500mAh: Higher-capacity option for hospital-grade and rental pumps requiring longer continuous operation.
| Specification | AS703440 | AS853450 |
|---|---|---|
| Nominal Voltage | 3.7V | 3.7V |
| Capacity | 1000mAh | 1500mAh |
| Typical Cycle Life | ≥500 cycles | ≥500 cycles |
| Discharge Stability | High stability for continuous motor operation | Longer runtime for high-duty hospital pumps |
