Liu Yafang, deputy director general of the Department of Energy Conservation and Science and Technology Equipment of the National Energy Administration, said at the recent China New Energy Storage High-quality Development Conference that the supporting role of new energy storage in energy transformation has been preliminarily shown. In the future, the adjustment of the implementation plan of the "14th Five-Year Plan" new energy storage development will be carried out in a timely manner, and pilot demonstration will be carried out in stages, batches and with specific focus. And accelerate the formulation and introduction of large-scale scenery base and power supply supporting new energy storage planning technical guidelines.
At the meeting, "China's New Energy Storage Development Report 2023" (hereinafter referred to as "Report") released by the Electric Power Planning and Design General Institute predicted that in the future, the development demand of new energy storage will mainly focus on supporting the large-scale development of new energy bases, alleviating the pressure of power supply and guaranteeing the consumption of new energy. By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the installed capacity of new energy storage is expected to exceed 50 million kW, mainly in North China and Northwest China.
