In September 2020, the European Commission's 2030 Climate Goals Plan stated that the share of electricity generated by renewable energy will increase from the current 32% to more than 65% by 2030. This increase in the share of electricity generated by renewable energy will drive the growth of energy storage demand.
From the perspective of the domestic market, in July 2021, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the "Guidance on Accelerating the Development of New Energy Storage". By 2025, the transformation of lithium-ion battery and other new energy storage from the initial commercialization to large-scale development will be realized, with the installed capacity reaching more than 30 million kW; By 2030, the comprehensive market-oriented development of new energy storage will be realized, and new energy storage will become the key to the country's two-carbon strategy of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality". In recent years, the national policy on energy storage field has further improved the current TOU tariff mechanism in many aspects, such as optimizing the peaking and valley tariff mechanism, and encouraged power generation enterprises to build energy storage system products to increase the grid-connected scale, and guided market players to increase the grid-connected scale of renewable energy through multiple channels.
The implementation of the above policies has provided a good development environment for the rapid development of the energy storage industry. According to GGII's prediction, China's storage lithium battery shipment will reach 58GWh in 2025, with a market scale of more than 55 billion yuan, entering a period of rapid scale development.
